Johnson, B.A.<br>Texas State University <br>Master of Fine Arts<br>with a Major in Communication Design<br>May 2020<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Level of design<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It seems that the layout is not the same on all pages and the lines are not justified, the indent is too high, the distance between paragraphs and the topics are varies throughout the thesis, this inconsistency is confusing for the reader and makes the reading process complicated and time-consuming. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They used some small fonts in a context that are hard to read,  some pictures are so small.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"789\" height=\"493\" src=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/555555555555555555555.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7664\" srcset=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/555555555555555555555.png 789w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/555555555555555555555-300x187.png 300w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/555555555555555555555-768x480.png 768w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 789px) 100vw, 789px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>For evaluating the picture book designed by the authors, I will say they did a great job using painted pictures and nice fonts related to the story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"709\" height=\"421\" src=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/6666666666666666666666666.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7665\" srcset=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/6666666666666666666666666.png 709w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/6666666666666666666666666-300x178.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 709px) 100vw, 709px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree of innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I think the other books for or about refugees even ones who told by the refugees don&#8217;t talk much about the cultural gaps which exist between refugees\/immigrants and the local people, but in this case, they had a questionnaire, a great survey in existing data and books and held different workshops getting help from the refugee children, and that resulted in addressing many of the mentioned issues so I will consider this thesis innovative.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Independence<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It is a very good example of how a study can be carried out independently and not get directed by the partners along the way.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Outline and structure<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The outline is so well structured and it is very clear and easy to follow, the abstract is understandable even for the readers who are not familiar with the topic, also the readers will find what should they expect from this thesis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The table of context is in detail but a little long, I think I will do mine in a shorter version, they have a storyboard and the rest of it is really well done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Degree of communication<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They managed to have a clear and understandable glossary which made the text easy to read.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Scope of the work<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-style-default\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"805\" height=\"606\" src=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/333333333333333333333333333.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-7661\" srcset=\"http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/333333333333333333333333333.png 805w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/333333333333333333333333333-300x226.png 300w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/333333333333333333333333333-768x578.png 768w, http:\/\/desres20.netornot.at\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/333333333333333333333333333-360x270.png 360w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 805px) 100vw, 805px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The authors worked a lot on reviewing and analyzing the exciting book, the gaps which children face as a refugee and immigrants, and the history of the books written in this field and also engaged children in their project so in my opinion they did a great job and made a lot of efforts.   <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Orthography and accuracy<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I am not an expert in this field but I didn&#8217;t see any problem while reading.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Literature<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Although the style and method they had used is so innovative but they managed to use and cite a lot of directed sources and the bibliography.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>About the Thesis Kelsey A.
